Weight Loss Motivation: Key To Losing Weight

Weight Loss Motivation I am sure you have heard the old saying “Where there is a will there is a way.” For the average individual trying to lose weight this unique phrase is so simple to say – yet so difficult to do. Whether you are striving to lose some unwanted weight or to decrease ten pants sizes, success relies upon your own weight loss motivation 

Why lose the weight?

Searching to be skinny for that beautiful wedding dress that is weeks away, or looking for that new man/woman in your life, avoiding a medical issue whatever the reason is. In order to succeed everyone
needs to have weight loss motivation that will make you walk away from all temptation.

So ask yourself what is going to drive me to reach my weight loss goal? Go deep down inside and find that
vision of what you want to look like, and why you want to look that way. What are the feelings you want to feel, losing this weight? Is it for health reasons, Happiness, Self Worth, or confidence? Knowing the answer to this question will restrain you from going to your favorite restaurants and ordering a greasy hamburger and French fries.

Try to read through each reason daily and use them as a reminder when tempted to stray from your weight loss plans.  Setting high exaction’s for your goals can lead to feeling frustrated and cause you to give up. However, setting and accomplishing achievable goals leads to feelings of accomplishment.

Why lose the Weight?

Your reasons could be medical and include preventing diabetes, keeping up with your grandchildren, looking your best for an event, improving on your self-confidence, There are many reasons to lose weight, it might be for a 10 year class reunion or fitting into that black dress that is two sizes smaller.

Or it might be health related, maybe avoiding heart disease. To succeed, everybody needs  weight loss motivation to be able to put down the fork and step away far from the double chocolate fudge cake. Sit and define every reason of why you want to lose weight and write them down one by one. This will help you stay committed and motivated to reach your weight loss goals.

There is always people starting to lose weight because their doctor has suggested it, but research shows that people will be more successful if their weight loss motivation comes from within yourself.  Try to read through them daily and use them as a reminder when tempted to stray from your weight loss plans.

So ask your self: What drives you to acquire your weight loss goal? Deep down inside, you have to have a vision of what you want to look like and why you want to look that  way. What emotions will weight loss make you feel?

Feeling healthy

Without knowing what the solution is to these questions, what prevents you from going on your favored fast food restaurant proper now and ordering three cheeseburgers and a large fry?  At least realize what the answer could be: It could be NOTHING.

Develop A Strategy

Before you have discovered what your weight loss motivation is you can then and only then you can make a plan to achieve your weight. Before you start running for 10 miles or jump on a threadmill, it is a good idea to put together a weight loss strategy.

Below I will show you a simple approach

1. The first thing on you list should be to get a scale and put a notebook on the floor beside it.  Next comes the tough part. Each and everyday, make it a priority for yourself to weigh in every morning. ( It is wise to weight in at the same time everyday to keep an accurate count.) When seeing your progress or failure everyday can be a great motivator. You just can’t hide from the facts. Another saying is you “can run but you can not hide”

It is a good idea, (in case you do not have any will power)is to remove the food you can not control yourself around.  That means to remove all items that are over 100 calories. example: If you can not control yourself to just eat 20 chip then throw the bag away. If you need more motivation put a picture of you in the refrigerator door in your favorite pair of pants or a dress you loved wearing back when you were lighter. that might keep you from eating your next éclair.

3. When making your weight loss strategy may include one of the best motivation is have a friend or a family member will take an evening walk with you or maybe one on your lunch break.  You can talk about going to an aerobics class for the both of you.  Family and friends can be a great motivation for you, use this for your advantage.  You must stop the urges for Mc Donald’s or Taco Bell, instead eat an apple instead.

I will never tell you that losing weight is easy. But ask yourself what your weight Loss motivation is, figure out what your driving force is, and then use some easy motivation strategies, you want to achieve what is the desire in achieving it.  There is always a way if you have the will.
